Starliner to Launch for ISS in Instantaneous Launch Window
Boeing's Crewed Flight Test Set for Tuesday
Starliner's Launch Campaign Begins 45 Days Before Liftoff
Starliner will launch to the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, May 21, from Space Launch Complex 41 at 4:43 p.m. EDT (20:43 GMT). The launch will mark the first crewed flight test of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.
Starliner has an instantaneous launch window, meaning it must launch on time to rendezvous with the ISS. The launch campaign begins 45 days before liftoff, with United Launch Alliance (ULA) stacking an Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41.
The Starliner launch is a major milestone for Boeing and NASA's Commercial Crew Program. If successful, Starliner will become the second commercial spacecraft certified to transport astronauts to and from the ISS.
